Dear CrossFit Stafford Coaches,
I heard about CrossFit Stafford from a friend/co-worker in January 2010. I was intrigued by what it was all about.
Each morning I would look forward to hearing about the WOD of the day from my friends and co-workers. I was living vicariously though these women whose figures were taking on a new shape. I could really tell that the workouts were changing their bodies and I was amazed at what I saw!!
After just a few months, I decided to jump on board. May 3, 2010 face book entry…”I laughed, I cried, but I’ll be back tomorrow”. All true…I laughed at what they expected me to do, cried (out of frustration and disappointment) when I couldn’t accomplish a burpee and returned the next day ready to go.
When I started out I had to scale most, if not all, of the exercises because I was just not strong enough to do them. I scaled push up’s by doing them against the wall. I did crunches instead of sit up’s and getting my chin the bar for pull up’s, even with the black band was a feat I never thought I would get close to.
Here I am 10 months later still going strong. I can do push up’s on my knees, full sit up’s and although still on the black band, I think I’m finally making eye contact with the pull up bar! I’m now down over 7% in body fat and 30 inches overall. I feel great! I am so proud of my accomplishments! I could have never achieved what I have without the support of all of the CrossFit Stafford coaches and the men and women that I work out with.
